The protective visors are usually used as protection against shrapnel, chemicals or radiation.
They can be attached to a head support or held with the hand to maintain unobstructed visibility. The protective visor window contains transparent, filtering, replaceable and adjustable sheets, e.g., for electric welding.
The protective shields are attached to the protective helmet or other supporting devices, but are not fully enclosed. They may consist of a metallic fabric or synthetic material and have partially metallic surfaces for heat reflection. They must not be flammable; the protective shields must protect against mechanical actions, splashes, sparks, radiant heat and chemicals.
